Preston Pupils Lit Up their Classroom with Diwali Lanterns Workshop

On 31 March, ENACT Europa spent the day at Kittiwake Library with a drop‑in cultural activity inspired by Somali folklore.

On 4 March 2026, we participated in the Festival of Languages event organised by the Great North Museum!
On 8 October 2025, students at Benfield Secondary School took part in an engaging Ebru marbling workshop led by ENACT and N.E.S.T as part of an e-Tandem exchange with a partner school in Turkey!

In a recent visit to Jinja, Uganda, ENACT had collaborated with the Women Rights Initiative (WORI) https://www.wori-uganda.org/ where the latter created a cooking activity making a traditional Ugandan meal.





ENACT research assistant Eve and Eleanor visited two Year 5 classes at Star of the Sea Primary School in Whitley Bay. Children learned importance of dialects and pronunciations whilst making their personalised Lambton Worms.

We had a fantastic Refugee Week 2025 event at the Great North Museum on 22nd of June! Languages and cultures are our superpowers!


ENACT's research assistants Eve and Eleanor had a fantastic time at West Jesmond Primary's International Evening which took place May 22nd 2025. With a total turnover of 520 attendees, with over 80 performers, ENACT's Lithuanian flower crown stall was one of 20 cultural stations, with over a few dozen flower crowns made! https://enacteuropa.com/?q=node/470
West Jesmond Primary's Year 5s travelled north-Europe without having to leave the classroom during our Around the World School Club taster sessions throughout May! The sessions hosted 10-15 children, who made Lithuanian flower crowns and Finnish landscapes with Eve.
We made Daisy Flower Crowns (Lule Margarita) with 15 children on 26 April 2025 at Shkolla Shqipe ILIRIA, at the Chipping Barnet Library in London! All children made beautiful crowns and learned different parts of the flower, e.g.

15 beautiful Rosa de Sant Jordi Roses nurtured at the Around the World Club taster by Benton Dene Primary's Year 5s and 6s. Children loved the Spanish tradition, and their roses are almost as beautiful as their vocabulary! The session was led by Eve, 2nd of April 2025.

20 children (Year 8) from Gosforth Junior High Academy got hands-on with German lantern traditions https://enacteuropa.com/?q=node/190 & Chinese calligraphy through the first Around the World Club free taster session.
On 25 March 2025, students studying Chinese at Newcastle University used ENACT to try out Chinese calligraphy and learn Chinese words in ilab:learn.



Professor Paul Seedhouse gave a talk on the ENACT web app and project at the 2026 AAAL conference in Denver, Colorado.
