North-East Festival of Languages 2025

The ENACT team ran three events for the North-East Festival of Languages 2025 (https://expressyourselfne.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/2025-PROGRAMME-...) with seven North-East schools!

On 20 March 2 schools (Wingrove Primary and Excelsior Academy) visited ilab:learn to learn Spanish through Flamenco dance with our new ENACT materials (https://enacteuropa.com/?q=node/488) and to make and eat delicious datiles con queso tapas!

On 20 March, as part of the Festival of Languages events at the Great North Museum, 90 children from Chantry Middle School Y7, Our Lady & St Anne's Y4, and Wingrove Y3 learned Māori and played with their Poi! https://enacteuropa.com/?q=node/417 Their favourite word was, of course, kutikuti! Feedback from schools included: "Maori craft activity excellent. Pupils enjoyed hands on experience of something they had never done before."

La Petite Crêperie schools’ competition (https://expressyourselfne.com/creperie-competition/) involved 32 schools, with 3,479 children taking part! On 3 July the winning 2 schools (Marden Bridge and Hexham Middle Schools) visited ilab:learn for a Masterclass with Master Crêpe-Maker Guy Albert! The children learnt French vocabulary using the ENACT web app (https://enacteuropa.com/?q=node/483) and each had their own Crêpe made to order.
