Mangala zekâ ve strateji oyunudur. Mangala tahtası üzerinde altı tane rakibin altı tane senin önünde olmak üzere toplam on iki tane kuyu vardır. Her kuyunun içerisinde de 4 tane taş bulunur. Tahtanın sağ ve sol kısımlarında birer tane hazine bulunur. Oyun sağ tarafa doğru ilerler. Sağ taraftaki hazine senin hazinendir. Oyundaki amacımız en çok taşı kendi hazinemizde biriktirmektir.
Oyuna taşları aldığımız kuyudan taş alarak başlarız. Taş aldığımız kuyu dahil olmak üzere her kuyuya bir tane taş bırakarak devam ederiz. Son taşımız kendi hazinemizde biterse bir oynama hakkımız daha olur. Son taşımız rakibimizin kuyusuna düşerse taşlar sayılır. Tek sayı ise sıra rakibine geçer. Çift sayı ise taşları alıp kendi hazinene doldurursun. Son taşın boş kuyuya denk gelirse o kuyunun karşısındaki rakibinin kuyusundaki taşlarının tamamını alıp kendi hazinene alırsın.
Mangala is a game of intelligence and strategy. There are twelve pockets on the Mangala board, six in front of your opponent and six in front of you. There are 4 stones in each pocket. There is a store on the right and left sides of the board. The game continues towards the right direction. The store on the right is yours. Our goal is to collect the most stones in our own store.
We start the game by taking stones from a pocket. We continue by leaving one stone in each pocket, including the pocket where we took the stone. If our last stone is in our own store, we have one more turn. If our last stone falls into our opponent's pocket, the stones are counted. If it is an odd number, the turn passes to the opponent. If it is an even number, you take the stones and fill them in your own store. If your last stone falls into an empty pocket, you take all the stones in your opponent's pocket opposite to that pocket and put them in your own store.
