St Michael's Primary School pupils have fun learning Chinese!
Year 5 pupils from St Michael's Primary School had a great time on Monday 15th July making Beijing Ice Candy or "Tanghulu" and practicing their Chinese calligraphy. The group donned aprons and chefs' hats in the digital kitchen to learn the names of the different fruits that they then dipped into hot sugar syrup. They also learnt about the ancient art of calligraphy and used brushes and ink to write characters for words including tree, mountain and forest. Feedback from the group was very positive - "I loved it!" said one pupil, who was excited to take home their calligraphy sheet, and another commented that their ice candy was "delicious!"
We really enjoyed having the group to visit and hope they try out the activities with their families at home!
