We are organising a workshop as part of the Festival of Languages again this year. Join us on 24 March 2023 to learn Chinese language and culture with ENACT. We will also celebrate the International Day of Multilingualism (25 March). A number of schools will visit Newcastle University and students will participate in in-person workshops at the ilab:learn. The schools will attend the workshop at iLab:Learn B83, King George VI Building, Newcastle University. A map showing the location of KGVI building available at this Google Maps link. The nearest Metro station is Haymarket, which is a five minute walk from the building. iLab:learn is in the building on the corner of King’s Road and Edward’s Walk (marked in yellow, as is Haymarket metro in the image below). There will be signs outside the entrance.
On Friday 24 March 2023, sixty schoolchildren from Valley Gardens Middle School and Gosforth Central visited Newcastle University, ilab:learn to learn Chinese using the ENACT app, helped by two Chinese students. The children learnt Chinese words while doing calligraphy (painting Chinese characters) and while making Beijing Ice Candy, which they then ate!
