two, or three years ago, I stumbled across this dance on BBC. it was not on an ordinary occation; Later USA president Trump displayed this dance. the dance itself is very attention-grabbing. In Ottoman Empire, they used to have a classification of workers and they had "Sayfiye (seyfiye)" which means "workers with swords" I am happy to learn that Sayf means kılıç in Turkish... Thank you:)
Turkey also has a similar dance called 'Kılıç Kalkan'; the performers clash their swords and shields without music. It's great to see similar dances in different cultures :)
It was great to learn Arabic culture which is similar to our culture. I'm really interested in folk dances of different cultures and tried this one at home. It was easy to learn but the language related to was complex a tad due to the alphabet of Arabic language. Still it was fun to experience your culture and I'm planning to teach it to all my friends now!

As a person who has lived in Saudi Arabia for 11 years, I have had the chance to watch this dance up close and its very interesting, I also really adore the arab culture and have a lot of arab friends.
I have found this cultural dance very interesting and it has a different style and unique choreography. But also, I have to admit that I have difficulty in the Arabic alphabet, I could not do the activity properly which is a little bit hard for me.
