ATWC Bringing Global Folklore to Norwich Classrooms

Between 15–18 April, ENACT Europa research assistant visited two Norwich primary schools to deliver hands‑on cultural workshops to 116 children celebrating global storytelling traditions.

At Tuckswood Academy, Year 4 pupils explored Somali folklore by creating their own Fox and Hyena characters, learning how these animals feature in East African tales. Year 4 pupils at Catton Grove Primary School took inspiration from Colombia’s vibrant Barranquilla Carnival, designing colourful masks which reflect the festival’s rich artistic heritage. Children were able to take their masks home and show them to their parents. These sessions formed part of our ongoing work to endorse cultural learning across national schools.
